Jehan Chan Yee Hing was born in Melaka but studied at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore 1956-60. He has exhibited widely in the region but has also represented Malaysia in exhibitions in India, Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam, Hong Kong, UK (1962 Commonwealth Art Exhibition) and elsewhere. Chan currently runs a couple of galleries dedicated to his paintings in Malaka. His work is held in private collections in the US, Canada, Japan and Europe and by the National Art Galleries in Malaysia and Singapore. It is also held by major commercial collections such as Cathay Pacific and Malaysian Airlines.
