Red Raven Arts is a gallery that specialises in modernist, expressionist and abstract paintings by quality artists from the period 1955-to the 1980s.
We have major holdings of works by John Christoforou, Ithell Colquhoun, Arnold Daghani, Nguyen Ducmanh, John Melville and Ulrico 'Montefiore' Schettini. In addition we stock paintings by British and international artists including Jacques Busse, Denis Bowen, Saleem Arif Quadri, Remo Salvadori, Reinhardt Schuster, Humphrey Spender, Christopher Sturgess-Lief, Leon Zack and some 50 others.
NEWS Latest Update : 2 September 2010 SEPTEMBER FOCUS: BRITISH ABSTRACT ARTISTS
This month we continue our focus on works from the 1950s to 1970s by British abstract artists, all of whom have a reasonable profile but, we feel, remain undervalued. These range from Jack Smith, a major figure in the realist kitchen sink school but later an outstanding abstract artist, to the less well-known but critically highly rated Peter Haigh. Others highlighted include Denis Bowen, Frank Avray Wilson and David Prentice. Although not on the main page, abstract works by Frank Beanland, Brian Fielding, Clifford Fishwick and more can be found whilst browsing the site.

We have made a number of interesting ourchases recently and will be carrying out a major stock update to the website in early October.
Our second site at www.2021modernart.com, displays works falling outside the core Red Raven remit. Although a pot-pourri of various styles and artists, all have something about them that appeal to us.
We are always interested in purchasing quality paintings from 1950s-1970s, whether from UK, Europe, Africa, Asia or the Americas.
